2022 Operation Fresh Start

Why Operation Fresh Start?

More than 23,000 children will age out of the US foster care system every year. After reaching the age of 18, 20% of the children who were in foster care will become instantly homeless.

We’re changing that by starting in our own backyard in New London County, Connecticut. At Operation Fresh Start, Inc. we are helping foster children and adults who have aged out of the foster care system to have a fresh start. By providing household items to set up apartments for the adults, backpacks full of items for the children, and a helping hand when needed, Operation Fresh Start Inc. serves our neighbors in Southeastern Connecticut.  Follow Operation Fresh State on Facebook.

Over 40 % of the homeless population are women. Women without housing face unique health challenges and outcomes that require specific types of care and support.

Domestic and sexual violence are the leading causes of homelessness among women.

Community of Hope’s mission is to help women affected by abuse, addiction and homelessness re-establish life through building a relationship with God, while in a safe and healthy living environment that reflects the love of a family.

2019 Community Speaks Out
People helping people.
We are facing an epidemic. The number of lives lost to heroin overdoses in Connecticut has increased exponentially over the past couple of years.

We have only just begun to fight, but together we can move mountains.

CSO is organized and operated to walk families through the process of getting addicted-friends and family members into treatment through financial and logistical assistance, and to foster community support, awareness and education on addiction and addiction prevention.
